A Harpo's Schedule for 2008

Performances are where I either do my Vaudeville-style act or just a harp solo, appearances are where I just interact with the public. Sometimes I perform and interact, in which case I call it a performance.

PREVIOUS APPEARANCES & PERFORMANCES:

JULY 4TH Parade - Appearance: I had a fun time, rode the trolly in the parade, like last year, then went to Mohawk park for awhile to share my toys.

VERY SPECIAL NOTE: I'd like to thank everyone who was so kind and helpful to me when I got lost again. I wish I could do my whole act for all of you!

JUNE 28, Appearance: PASTY FEST: It WAS AWESOME! I got there around 2 and stayed till 7, entertaining a bunch of children, I also sang as "Ariel," at their kareekee contest, and, though I didn't win anything, I sure had fun! The BEST part of the day was the wonderful children, I wanted to hug them all! I wish I could have more days like this one!

April 8, Performance: Easter at Little Brothers Dinner: I divided my time between being Harpo and being Ariel. Ariel sang with the harp for awhile, then I played harp for awhile, I prob'ly goofed around a bit, too, as usual.

A Harpo & Harp

I like this extension rod, it not only makes the harp bigger, but easier to play when I'm on a regular sized chair.

My harp is much smaller than the one Harpo Marx had. He was a short man at 5' 5 1/2", but his hands were big. I'm even shorter than he was. My fingers are long for my size.

The horn can be very loud, especially indoors, so I made a muffler that goes inside, to make it much quieter.

This is my first wig, it looks good on me but doesn't look as good with the hat. The horn looks cool on the pole, that's how Harpo had his in the movies, but it doesn't honk that way. In the movies, they played a deep sound for it when it was squeezed. I thought it really sounded that way, till I saw him on a TV show with the horn on it's original bell attachment, like the one in the previous picture, and it honked like a bicycle horn then, much like mine does. His horn was much bigger than mine. He took it from a taxicab, he said in his book.

If I get any performances as Ariel, I'll list them here if I get to share my time with Harpo. If I get any without him, I'll list them below Harpo's schedule. If I get a lot of them, either with him or alone, I'll rename the page to "2 in 1 Performances," or something similar.
